NEW BOOK SLAMS BRITNEY SPEARS MOM

Star biographer Ian Halperin is slamming out at Britney Spears mom Lynne and is insisting she selfishly pushed the singer into fame. Halperin spent 18 months as an undercover paparazzi getting close to the pop singing star and her inner circle of managers and friends, and now plans to release a book full of all the information. In his forthcoming book Stalking Britney: Under Siege with Britney Spears, he attacks Lynne - who recently defended herself against accusations of being a pushy stage mother in her own book about her life raising Britney, entitled Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World. Halperin says, "Lynne is a spin doctor and a borderline manic-depressive. She wants to come across as very innocent, but she only rushed to Britney’s side when Britney had her emotional breakdown because there was a big rush for Britney’s fortune. "It’s ridiculous that she says she didn’t push both these kids into show business. (The parents) thought she would be a cash cow to set them up for their future." His book is scheduled to hit book stores next November.

Teri was horrified when a leaked version of her new Glamour column led to headlines about sex advice she has been giving her very young daughter. Glamour editor Jo Elvin says, "Quotes taken from Teri Hatcher's October British Glamour article have been grossly misreported and taken out of context by the worldwide media. "We are disappointed that the true meaning of the column, written by Teri, which is always heartfelt and thought-provoking, has been twisted in this way in order to manufacture a headline. False media claims report Teri telling her daughter to have great sex (and) eat the chocolate, but ... this mis-states Teri's words. "In fact, in her column, she said that this is 'not what I wanted my daughter to know at all.' "Teri Hatcher is a wonderful mother and the article truly represents great messages about living life as a woman and a mother with grace, humour and wisdom. We will be posting the article on www.glamourmagazine.co.uk so that it can be read in it's entirety and true context."

When asked if she would ever like to portray Clinton, she tells The Advocate, "No. ... At this point, to say after what's happened to her campaign and how they squandered all that money and all the different reasons her campaign fell apart, to blame it on sexism, I find so destructive to every young girl who dreams about making a difference through government."Instead of saying, 'Look how far I've gotten and you can do it too,' and all the positive things she could have done, she's turned into such a blamer and whiner, as if that was the reason, when clearly she wouldn't have been in the position she was in if she hadn't been a woman."To now turn around and say it was sexism I find so dishonorable and really destructive to women all over, young women all over. ALEC BALDWIN LASHES AT BASINGER

In this week's New Yorker, he asks, "Think I'm walking stiffly? Yeah, there's a 120lb actress on my back. "Parental alienation is about people who narcissistically project their whole reality on to a child: 'I don't need you, so the child doesn't need you'. The goal of the alienating parent is to kill contiguous time. People need reliability. They need regularity. And I've been the victim of a campaign to kill all of that." The star couple divorced after nine years of marriage in 2002. He adds, "You end up being more an uncle than a father."
