Mankatha completes 50 days !

We all know that Ajith's 50th movie Mankatha took a phenomenal opening not just in India, but overseas as well and now the film has completed 50 days in theatres. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, Mankatha created a buzz in the state as it had the next highest opening to Rajinikanth's Enthiran. Music director Yuvan Shankar Raja's peppy tracks and the racy background score added to the frenzy. Apart from Thala Ajith, Mankatha also starred Trisha, Arjun, Anjali, Andrea, Premji, Vaibhav, Mahanth, Ashwin, Lakshmi Rai and Jayaprakash in prominent roles. The film is produced by Cloud Nine Movies and released under the Sun Pictures banner.

Mankatha is an action thriller which narrates the story of match-fixing sagas in international cricket matches. Arjun plays the role of an investigative officer who takes up the task of exposing the bookies. Thala Ajith is a cop-cum-gambler.

Rajinikanth made a trip to the Tirupathi temple yesterday!

Superstar Rajinikanth had made a trip to the Tirupathi temple yesterday along with his family members. Rajini who had not been well for the past few months had been to the Balaji Temple in Tirupathi for offering their prayers to Lord Venkateshwara.

Rajinikanth went to Tirupathi yesterday evening with his wife Latha, Daughters Aishwarya and Soundarya and son-in-laws Dhanush and Ashwin, with grandsons Yatra and Linga.

He was accompanied by Telugu actor and his close friend Mohan Babu and was taken through the Vaikundam Que complex with the help of a temple authority Srinivasaraju.

Rajini who made his offerings at the temple near the Ranganayaki Mandapam, had arrived with nearly 16 of his family members and left the same day in car back to Chennai.

Meeting the press in Tirupathi he thanked media and his fans for supporting him through his health down phase and said that he would resume the shoot of Rana in two months time.

Clash between Prabhu Deva-Nayantara!

Just when people were busy guessing the date and venue of much-awaited marriage of Prabhu Deva-Nayantara, a shocking speculation is doing rounds in the cine circle. Grapevine has it that the couple's relationship is in trouble and they are yet to sort out the differences.

Prabhu Deva was recently accompanied by his children for a shooting schedule in abroad. The choreographer-turned-director, who was asked by Nayantara to take her with him, told her to stay back but did not reveal the reason behind it. He was reportedly not keen to be with her while his kids were around. This has lead to the rift between the couples, claim reports.

Reports further say that Prabhu Deva's proximity with his kids has not gone well with Nayantara, as she believes that the choreographer is ignoring her. The actress has given up so many things for him – she bid goodbye to her career during her peak years, converted to Hinduism, etc. – but he is not ready sacrifice a bit of it.

Ajith injured on the Billa 2 location!

Thala Ajith is said to have had a accident while shooting on the sets of Billa 2. Directed by Chakri Toleti, the Billa 2 crew are currently shooting in Goa. The shoot is said to get completed by the end of November says reports.

Ajith who has been shooting for some action scenes for the past few days is said to have been injured on the Billa 2 location.

A source informs, “It was an action scene that was in progress and it involved the use of glass bottles. Ajith had to hit the stunt person with a bottle. unfortunately, the bottle broke and slit Ajith’s hand during a scene.”

The source further added, “It was a small cut, nothing major. And Ajith continued to shoot after the incident. He was his usual self, always working on increasing efficiency and productivity.”
