Harry Potter Daniel Radcliffe's stunt double is in a serious condition in hospital after a flying sequence on another installment being filmed went wrong. The crew is currently on pre-production scenes for upcoming picture, Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows, the seventh film in the wizard series, at Leavesden Studios in Watford, England. The unnamed 25-year-old stuntman, who doubles for star Radcliffe, was rehearsing an ariel sequence yesterday, when he was sent plummeting to the ground following an explosion which was part of the huge stunt.The man was immediately attended by paramedics and rushed to the nearby Watford General Hospital to be treated for a "significant back injury". A source tells British newspaper the Daily Mirror, "The stunt double was badly hurt. The scene seems to have gone badly wrong. The guy was rigged up to a harness and was flying through the air. It is thought he may have been caught in the explosion and hit the ground very hard. He told crew members who went to help him that he couldn’t feel anything from the waist down. Everyone is hoping he makes a good recovery. It has come as a terrible shock." A statement from studio executives adds, "We can confirm a member of the Harry Potter production was injured in an accident. We are awaiting further news. Out of respect for the family we are unable to comment any further."

After announcing plans to take the show off-air in March, officials at ABC are denying that the hit series "Ugly Betty" will be canceled. The program stars America Ferrera, and is being pulled mid-way through its current third season run and replaced by new episodes of Christina Applegate's "Samantha Who?" and comedy "In the Motherhood." The move prompted fears the series would be canned following the season three finale, but TV executives have now issued a statement assuring fans the show will be back once again. An ABC spokesperson says, "'Ugly Betty' will return following the run of 'In the Motherhood' and 'Samantha Who?' The Thursday night block is a good opportunity to launch these comedies. That said, 'Betty' is a solid performer and there is no question that it will definitely be back to complete its season, just without repeats."

Hollywood star Morgan Freeman's hand is still paralysed from a car accident he was involved in last year. The injury is keeping him from the skies. The actor is admitting the nerve damage he suffered in August is taking a long time to heal - and until it does, he won’t be able to take off in his private plane that he loves so much. The acting pilot admits he’s missing his flying time, but he knows he’s in no condition to fly an aircraft. He says, "I wound up with a lot of nerve damage.. and the hand is still paralysed, so, until the nerves get down there (I won’t be flying)."

Pop singer Jennifer Lopez and hubby Marc Anthony have quashed the rumors of an impending breakup by performing a romantic duet at a party celebrating the inauguration of President Barack Obama. Anthony was performing at the Western Ball in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday night after Barack Obama was officially welcomed into the White House. Anthony praised his wife throughout his performance and before launching into his decade old-hit, "You Sang to Me," he told the crowd, "I wrote this next song about Jennifer. I must have been psychic. She didn't get the point, but eventually it worked." And for his final song, Anthony welcomed wife Jennifer on stage, inviting her to sing an upbeat ballad with him in Spanish. The pair embraced and shared a kiss at the end of the set, with Anthony telling the audience, "Man, she's cute."

Singer 50 Cent ensured Jim Carrey's 47th birthday was an event to remember by inviting him to join him onstage during a live performance. Carrey celebrated his big day by catching the rapper's performance at Sundance Film Festival's Vitaminwater house in Park City, Utah, on Saturday night. The birthday boy, along with his actress girlfriend Jenny McCarthy, headed directly for the balcony where the star was performing with his hip-hop group G-Unit, reports the New York Daily News. A source tells the newspaper, "Jim and Jenny were dancing and really getting into the music, so 50 decided to bring him out to the balcony for a special rendition of 'In Da Club' (which repeats the line "It's your birthday"). "When Fiddy told the crowd, 'I have a very special guest for you,' everyone was floored because he had just done a duet with Robin Thicke. They thought the surprises were over. Then 50 started singing and Jim appeared, and the crowd just lost it."

Hollywood star Jeremy Piven is urging television viewers to eat fish with caution and have their mercury levels checked before they become crippled by its horrible effects. Piven was ordered by his doctors to pull out of the Broadway play "Speed-The-Plow" last month because his mercury levels were "shockingly high." Speculation began to surge when the "Entourage" star blamed his rare illness on eating too much sushi, with the plays author, David Mamet, remarking, "My understanding is that he is leaving show business to pursue a career as a thermometer." But Piven appeared on "Good Morning America" today and urging viewers to reel in their love of fish. He says, "The last thing I ever thought about doing was not completing this run. I've never not completed anything in my life. I'm very proud to say that I've been a workhorse my entire life. ... they pulled me out of this thing and that's the truth. "I come from a theater family -- you talk about the show must go on -- this is in my DNA. This was my finest moment -- that I had been working for my whole life." Katy Perry is still "hurting" over her split from Travis McCoy, but she is insisting she's "over it." Perry broke up with the Gym Class Heroes frontman in December after weeks of bad arguments. McCoy has turned to his online blog to air his feelings about his singing ex, Perry decided to address the failed romance at her show at Los Angeles California Hotel Cafe on last night, hinting it was McCoy who pushed her away. She told the crowd, "It hurts right now. When you break up with someone you move on. "You don't really want to move on. ... but you have to because they don't give you any choice. But I'm over it!"

The Bahamas health minister is slamming the funeral home workers for leaking the cause of Jett Travolta's death, and is insisting it was in breach of strict confidentiality rules. Insiders at the mortuary where the body of John Travolta’s 16-year-old son was kept following his death in the Caribbean country on Friday spoke out yesterday, just hours after an autopsy took place, to reveal that he died from a seizure. Politician Dr. Hubert Minnis is furious the information was made public so soon after the death, and before Travolta and his wife Kelly Preston were able to comment on the findings and to morn. Speaking on NBC's 'The Today Show', Minnis says, "I was somewhat amazed that the funeral director or someone leaked the report. It’s strictly confidential and the family should be in the position to release the report." Travolta and Preston returned home to their Ocala, Florida home on Monday with the ashes of the teenager, following his cremation. Funeral plans have yet to be announced.
Hollywood star Rosario Dawson is scared her mother will be upset by her new film role as a dying woman.The actress plays a character on the brink of death in Will Smith’s new film Seven Pounds, and she fears the portrayal will strike a little too close to home for her mom, who has suffered from chronic asthma and diabetes for many years. Dawson says, "My mom’s health is something that I’m concerned with all the time and that makes me worry because I have zero control in that."I know this is going to be a very difficult movie for her to see and I was really thoughtful thinking of her while I was doing this." The film has made Dawson thankful that she has been blessed with good health.
