David Beckham is stepping down from his role as the face of the soft drink giant Pepsi. The soccer ace spent ten years of starring in the global brand’s advertising campaigns. David announced he has walked away from his big money deal with Pepsi, which reportedly earned the star $3.5 million dollars a year. David has appeared alongside Britney Spears, Beyonce Knowles and Pink, as well as a host of international soccer stars, in the drinks company’s TV, magazine and billboard promotions. And he is adamant the arrangement came to an end amicably - insisting he wants to focus on other commitments. In a statement, Beckham says, "I have nothing but good memories of my association with Pepsi."I’ve played a gladiator, a cowboy, a surfer, and worked alongside Beyonce and Jennifer Lopez as well as some of the biggest names in world football."I hope everyone who has seen the work enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed making it." And the drinks giant’s bosses, who have long used famous faces to help sell their products, are adamant Beckham will be welcomed back to promote their products in the future. A spokesperson for the company says, "Pepsi is proud to have worked with David Beckham for 10 years, during which time he has been among the most successful and inspiring international footballers of all time."Our partnership has been one of the most enduring in global brand history and David will always be part of our Pepsi family."
