Not ready to disappoint Ajith fans who would not be able to see their Thala on screen in 'Mankatha' as planned on May 1, director Venkat Prabhu and his team are working to release the film's audio on the birthday of the Ultimate Star.
Circles close to Venkat Prabhu told that the movie's music album, composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, will be released on May 1 at a grand function in Chennai. "The film will hit the screens within the next few weeks of the audio release," they said.
"A couple of crucial scenes and songs have to be shot. Venkat Prabhu is currently working round the clock on ‘Mankatha’. So the film would sure see the light of the day in a couple of months," they said, adding all the nine songs composed for 'Mankatha' by Yuvan would top the charts.
Produced by Dhayanidhi Alagiri's Cloud Nine movies, 'Mankatha', Ajith 50th film, has Trisha, Arjun, Premji, Vaibhav, Lakshmi Rai and Anjali in lead roles.
It looks like it will be a direct clash between Dhanush and Silambarasan at the summer box-office.
Sun Pictures the market leader is likely to release their Maapillai which has Dhanush and Hansika in the lead on April 8.A day later on April 9, Silambarasan's multi-starrer Vaanam distributed by Cloud Nine is scheduled to release.
As per trade sources Sun Pictures has blocked April 8 for Mapillai and May 6 for Engeyum Kathal, clearly giving both the films a decent gap of four weeks. Sun Network will aggressively promote both the films, which carry good reports.
Meanwhile producer Madan has said that his Vaanam, post-production work is going on in full swing, and the first copy should be ready by April first week. Says Madan: "We are on schedule and should release
Vaanam on April 9, a very good date if all goes well."
Vikram’s upcoming Tamil movie, which was tentatively titled Deiva Magan (DM), has been rechristened as Deiva Thirumagan. The makers of the film have finally zeroed in on the title after considering a few titles.
Deiva Magan is the title of Sivaji Ganeshan’s yesteryear movie. Sivaji Prabhu, who is planning to launch his son, has decided to name the launch pad movie of his son as DM. So he has told Vikram that he wants that title, which made the actor to drop the title. Later, director AL Vijay renamed it as Pitha but another producer had already registered it.
Finally, after considering a few other titles, makers of the film are happy to title the movie as Deiva Thirumagan. They say that the title perfectly suits the story. However, the movie is releasing in April. The movie stars Vikram, Anushka and Amala Paul in the lead roles.

The recent tsunami havoc in Japan, triggering panic among many countries on the Pacific coast, has hit honeymoon plans of newlyweds Allu Arjun and Sneha Reddy.
The celebrity couple had actually made plans of spending some quality time in Indonesia and a few other beaches around but with the tsunami alert, they decided to cancel their trip.
"Our chosen destination was Indonesia and the plan was then to move around the nearby exotic beaches but we had to drop it due to the tsunami alert," says Allu Arjun, who had kept 10 days aside for his honeymoon before joining the shooting for Badrinath from March 21. After the tsunami alert, the Indonesian islands reported high tidal waves.
The couple is now on an alternative plan. "We are planning to go to Europe for a couple of days but it all depends on getting the visa and other travel documents ready in a short notice. I`ll try my best to fly off with my wife to get to know each other better," he adds.
On a lighter note, the onscreen lover boy claimed to have been flooded with SMS from actresses and girlfriends after tying the knot. "Some of them sounded disappointed," he smiles. "But I can`t share those names with you."
