Hollywood star Dennis Quaid made a return to the Los Angeles California hospital where his baby twins almost died after mistakes by medics. The actor and his wife Kimberley were awarded $750,000 in damages in December, after the staff at L.A.'s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center mistakenly gave their newborns Thomas and Zoe a near-fatal amount of blood thinning drug Heparin, leaving them fighting for their lives. The children have since recovered and are in good health. California state regulators also fined the hospital for the failure of its staff to follow their own procedures. Quaid paid a return visit to Cedars-Sinai in February as part of a special for the Oprah Winfrey show to determine whether the medical facility has put any steps in place to ensure a similar mistake could not happen again.
