British comic Russell Brand plans to escape to Los Angeles California to flee the furor surrounding his controversial prank calls to actor Andrew Sachs, according to media reports. Brand quit his job as a BBC radio presenter after outrage over a stunt in which he and fellow broadcaster Jonathan Ross recorded voicemail messages for "Fawlty Towers" star Sachs. In the calls, the pair made lewd comments about Brand's fling with 78-year-old Sachs' granddaughter. And the funnyman is apparently eager to leave the United Kingdom when filming has wrapped on his television show "Ponderland," according to Britain's The Sun. A source tells the newspaper, "He just wants to get on the next plane out of England -- and get away from this mess."Russell rushed along the filming so he could get to L.A. as soon as possible."

LIL WAYNE IS A NO SHOW AT CONCERT

Rap singing star Lil Wayne disappointed fans on Monday night by not showing up to a concert in Boston Mass. The hip hopper was booked to appear at the Monster Jam concert alongside headline acts that included Jay-Z and Ne-Yo. However, the singer reportedly refused to comply with security procedures at the TD Banknorth Garden venue and pass through a metal detector, according to the Boston Herald newspaper. Lil Wayne is then said to have left, without performing, leaving his fans waiting anxiously for over an hour.But the concert was saved when Jay-Z extended his set to fill the gap.

LL COOL J BACKS OUT ON JACKSON TOUR

Pop singer Janet Jackson's United States tour has been dealt another setback. Rap icon LL Cool J has quit as the opening act for the Rock Witchu roadshow. Jackson was forced to cancel a string of shows due to a bout of vertigo earlier this month, but returned to the stage on October 15th. However, the remaining gigs on the tour will no longer feature an opening set by LL Cool J, after he pulled out of the concerts on Monday. The rapper cited unspecified scheduling conflicts.The "Nasty" singer is due to continue with her first tour in seven years and will play in Auburn Hills, Mich., tonight. She then performs in New York on Saturday.

FERGIE WANTS TO GAIN MORE WEIGHT

Singing star Fergie is on a mission to gain more weight for her role in the upcoming movie "Nine."The Black Eyed Peas singer has landed the role of a prostitute called Saraghina in the new picture, alongside a star-studded cast including Daniel Day-Lewis, Nicole Kidman, Judi Dench, Kate Hudson and Penelope Cruz.The Hollywood actors are currently rehearsing in Britain before shooting begins, and Fergie admits that spending time in London is helping her bulk up, as she has a penchant for English food. She says, "I actually love (British food). I was actually told to gain weight for the film so I've been eating everything -- anything and everything. That's why I am covering up except for my legs because they never gain weight and that's the only part that never changes but everything else is covered."

Country singing star Carrie Underwood is laughing off media reports that she is in a feud with pop star Jessica Simpson and is insisting she has nothing against her for dating her ex Tony Romo.The two icons were alleged to have fallen out after Underwood insinuated she was still in touch with Romo, two years after their split.In a recent interview with Allure magazine, Underwood said Romo was equally keen to keep in contact, adding: "The phone will ring and it'll be him, and I'll maybe not answer."Simpson, who has been dating Romo since late last year, subsequently hit back at Underwood's comments, claiming her boyfriend has never called his ex. The reality television star turned designer for her budget Heidiwood line, which debuted in April. But bosses at Anchor Blue have chosen not to renew her contract, so they can focus on their own fashion line. Marla White, director of marketing at Anchor Blue Retail Group, says, "Anchor Blue and Heidi Montag are pleased with what Heidiwood for Anchor Blue accomplished during this past year. However Anchor Blue chose not to extend the Heidiwood contract after the initial year as they will be concentrating solely on what their heritage, their foundation, is based on -- denim."

Rap singing star Lil' Wayne has become a father once again.The rapper whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., welcomed a baby boy today, just days after he announced he would be a father again at the 2008 BET Hip Hop Awards.The newborn, named Dwayne Carter III, was born at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati on Wednesday afternoon.The identity of the baby's mother is unknown.The rapper already has a 9-year-old daughter, Reginae, with ex-wife Antonia Carter.

Hollywood star Christian Slater can't get rid of the memory of his first on-camera love scene, because he filmed it just after losing his virginity. The talented actor was just 17 when his 1986 film "The Name of the Rose" was released, and he admits his lack of experience in the sack sent him into a frenzy. And Slater insists it was his co-star Sean Connery's advice that helped during the explicit scene with actress Valentina Vargas. Slater says, "I had just lost my virginity the year before. So to go from doing that to shooting a love scene. ... I remember I talked to Sean Connery about it and told him I was nervous before going in there and he just said, 'Well, all I can tell you boy is breathe, remember to breathe.'"

JOSH BROLIN STUNNED AFTER ARREST

Hollywood actor Josh Brolin was really stunned when he was held by police after a fight at a bar, because he is convinced there was no brawl at all.The star was celebrating the completion of the filming on George W. Bush biopic "W." with director Oliver Stone and members of the cast and crew when the incident occurred. Brolin, his co-star Jeffrey Wright, and five crewmembers were arrested when they allegedly got involved in a fight between locals at the Stray Cat bar in Shreveport, La., in July. But the "No Country for Old Men" star insists they are innocent, saying police overreacted to the incident by spraying tear gas at the men. He tells USA Today, "I've gotten into trouble in my life, for sure, but I've never seen anything like this. We'd just finished (filming) I think four hours before and had a couple of drinks."Jeffrey got into something with the bartender. Suddenly he told me, 'I think they're calling the cops.' I went to the bathroom. When I came out of the bathroom, he was being escorted out. All I wanted to know was where (they were) taking him."I met him outside. I remember thinking, 'Mace is bouncing off my eyeballs. This is unbelievable.' A lot of people got arrested for asking questions."There was no fight. I've spent a lot of time in Texas myself, a lot of time in the South. I've never seen anything this extreme. I've never seen it escalate so quickly."Brolin and Wright are due in court in December on charges of interfering with police.

A smiling and tired-looking Jolie, wearing only a maternity dress, poses for her man, her left nipple covered by a baby's tiny hand. Inside the magazine, there are another 21 candid shots of the movie star. As well as more breastfeeding photos, Pitt also shows off a series of tasteful, near-nude portraits as well as playful ones of Jolie playing with their children and making faces for the camera. Pitt shot the photos in mid-August at Chateau Miraval, the family's home in southern France.

Pop singer Madonna lashed out at vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, and banned the politician from ever coming to her concerts. The singer was performing a show in Meadowlands, New Jersey as part of her Sticky & Sweet tour on Saturday night when she began a tirade against Palin. She told the crowd: "Sarah Palin can’t come to my party. Sarah Palin can’t come to my show. It’s nothing personal," before adding, "Here’s the sound of Sarah Palin’s husband’s snowmobile when it won’t start," followed by a loud screeching noise. Madonna has previously shown her dislike of the Republican party on her current tour by using presidential candidate John McCain’s image in a video segment alongside scenes of destruction, global warming and starving children.
